Meet Victoria Marie

I’m Victoria, the founder and cake designer behind Cakes by Victoria Marie. I’m a positive person with a lifelong passion for baking and an eye for detail.

I’ve lived in Salisbury for the past 11 years and am a mum to two young children — family life and creativity sit at the heart of everything I do.

I’ve been baking for as long as I can remember, learning first in the kitchen with my mum, my grandma, and even our neighbour next door.

By the time I was around twelve, I was baking whenever I could (after school, at weekends) constantly inspired by cooking programs and a love of learning new techniques.

Baking has always gone hand-in-hand with my love of food; I enjoy cooking just as much and take inspiration from Jamie Oliver and Mary Berry!

Where it all started

In 2019, after having my first daughter, my focus shifted towards cake decorating. I began creating cakes for family and friends, encouraged by those around me who believed I could turn my passion into a business.

In July 2020, I took the leap and officially launched Cakes by Victoria Marie.

In 2022, after the birth of my second daughter, we faced the challenge of a milk and soya allergy. I was really disappointed by the lack of good free-from options available, I began developing recipes that delivered the same flavour, texture and great taste as dairy bakes.

This experimentation not only strengthened my skills but shaped the way I approach recipe development.

The Business today

As demand grew, opportunities followed, including supplying cakes to a local tea room, allowing me to leave my role as a dental practice manager and focus fully on the business.

Eventually, the business outgrew my home kitchen, and in April 2025 I proudly opened Cakes by Victoria Marie’s first shop, complete with a dedicated kitchen and cake counter and I employed assistant baker, Lola to help me.

Today, we focus on bespoke celebration cakes, wedding cakes, and a carefully curated counter of fresh bakes each week.

I specialise in buttercream cakes, with ganache finishes for wedding cakes, and I’m known for my attention to detail.  Decorating is my calm (it’s where I feel most at peace) and I’m constantly developing new flavours and designs to keep my work evolving.

My favourite part of what I do is hearing about how much people love the cakes and bakes and how much they enjoy the taste: bringing that joy to others is what makes the work so rewarding.

I’m a perfectionist and my own toughest critic, always striving to be better than before. I truly love what I do, and I feel incredibly lucky to create cakes that become part of people’s most special moments.
